GPC311 STUDENTS CAME TOGETHER WITH PROF. SPENCER NILES
Students of Guidance and Psychological Counselling who take GPC311 (Career Guidance and Conselling) have chatted with Prof. Dr. Spencer Niles through Skype. The students willingly asked their questions after the final exam on 3th January to Mr. Niles who is the dean of William & Mary Collage. He had answered politely the call of Part-Time intructor expert psychologist Nurdan Ünalan. The meeting whose time length was planned as 20 minutes has lasted 1.5 hours by the reasons detailed answers and interest of Mr. Niles. Students have gotten the oppurtunity of asking; how to follow a development plan to become a successful psychological counselor, how to get from teaching to academic life, how to care career advice to undecided yought, what to think about Turkish career applications, recommendations, respectfull career counseling graduate and doctoral programs in United States. The meeting has become in the mood of chat as well as an academic lecture. Mrs. Ünalan and her students thanked to Mr. Niles, participating into meeting in earlier hours of morning in America and by virtue of his contributions and showing his kind concern. They also did not forget to have a souvenir photograph taken.
Who is Prof. Spencer Niles?
Prof. Spencer Niles, after completing Primary School Education in Bloomsburg University, he has taken master degree in Lehigh University and PhD in Penn State University. After experiences in teachership, Niles who started his academic career in various universities has more than 130 journals. Niles who is one the most important academicians in career counselling field has been working in William and Mary University as the Dean of The Faculty of Education since 2013. Niles, participated into many projects and international studies, and the book of him, “Career Development Interventions in the 21st Century” is used as course textbook of GPC311 in our university. He had many successful Turkish doctoral students and came to Turkey in 5 times.
