The panel titled “The Role of Psychological Counselor in Protecting Community Mental Health” was held on October 10, 2020 in order to increase knowledge and awareness of mental health and preventive mental health studies. The panel was conducted with wide participation over the Webinar. The webinar was a public event and hosted at our university in collaboration with EduAction Student Society and Psychological Counseling&Guidance Program. 

The webinar was a public event and hosted at our university in collaboration with EduAction Student Society and Psychological Counseling&Guidance Program. The participants consisted of participants from many different fields, such as academics, mental health professionals from various universities.

The panel was moderated by TED University Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department faculty member Assist. Prof. Dr. Olcay Yılmaz and realized with the participation of Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Havva Voltan Acar, the Head of TEDU Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department, Gazi University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Şerife Işık, and Hacettepe University Faculty Member Assist. Dr. Özlem Haskan Avcı.

In the panel, the speakers emphasized the importance of making mental health and mental health problems understandable in society and increasing awareness. Also, the importance of psychological counselling and guidance in protecting mental health and mental health services was emphasized. In addition, significant information on current issues regarding mental health and psychological counselling was shared. At the end of the panel,  Prof. Dr Yüksel Kavak, TED University Faculty of Education Dean, joined the panel and conveyed his greetings and to our panellists and the audience.
