TÜBİTAK-Supported 'Culturally Responsive Schools Project' Titled 'Inclusive and Democratic Schools for Immigrant and Refugee Children'

The opening meeting for the TÜBİTAK-supported Culturally Responsive Schools Project, titled "Inclusive and Democratic Schools for Immigrant and Refugee Children" was held at TED University on September 26, 2025. Faculty members from the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Dr. F. Zehra Ünlü Kaynakçı and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökçen Aydın Dalarslan, are participating as researchers, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sibel Akın-Sabuncu from the Department of Educational Sciences serving as the Project Director.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • To investigate the professional development needs of classroom teachers, school psychological counselors, and school administrators regarding the education of immigrant and refugee students.
  • To develop and implement a trainer training program based on the Culturally Responsive Education approach.
  • To examine the reflections of the knowledge, skills, and awareness gained by participants on classroom and school practices.

In line with these objectives, the CRE4ALL project will be carried out with the participation of 30 schools selected from 5 districts of Ankara (Altındağ, Çankaya, Mamak, Keçiören, Yenimahalle).
