Assist. Prof. Dr. Begüm Serim Yıldız Participated in the “Forensic Interview Techniques with Children” Event

Assist. Prof. Dr. Begüm Serim Yıldız, Chair of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling, participated as a speaker in the online event entitled “Forensic Interview Techniques with Children,” organized on June 19 by the TED University Representative Office of the Psychological Counselor Student Council of the Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association.

During the event, Assist. Prof. Dr. Begüm Serim Yıldız addressed the fundamental principles that should be considered when conducting forensic interviews with children. She emphasized the importance of an interview process that safeguards children’s safety and well-being and is supportive, evidence-based, and consistent with the relevant legal framework.

Participants were also provided with information on key considerations in communicating with children, the professional approaches to be adopted during forensic interviews, and ethical responsibilities. The event contributed to increasing participants’ knowledge and awareness of forensic interview processes involving children.
