Within the scope of the courses on marriage and family dynamics conducted by Asst. Prof. S. Burcu Özgülük Üçok, faculty member of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department at TED University, and under her coordination, a seminar titled “Siblinghood in the Shadow of Close Relationships: From Sibling Dynamics to Romantic Relationships” will be delivered by Assoc. Prof. Didem Aydoğan.
The seminar is organized as part of the TEDU101 Mix & Mingle activities and aims to contribute to students’ understanding of interpersonal relationships from a family systems perspective.
The speaker, Assoc. Prof. Didem Aydoğan, completed her undergraduate education in Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Selçuk University, and her master’s and doctoral studies at Gazi University. Throughout her academic career, she has held positions at Gazi University and Hasan Kalyoncu University, and, with the support of TÜBİTAK, conducted research for nearly one year as a visiting scholar at the Centre of Resilience for Social Justice, University of Brighton (UK).
With numerous national and international publications in the field of marriage and family studies, Dr. Aydoğan’s research focuses on relational resilience among married couples, family resilience in disadvantaged groups, adult sibling relationships, and marital dynamics from a cross-cultural perspective. Her postdoctoral work includes participation in projects such as the School-Based Resilience Enhancement Program, resilience-based program development for adolescents in collaboration with MoNE–UNICEF, and TÜBİTAK 1001 research projects.
Recognized for her academic achievements through various awards and scholarships, Assoc. Prof. Didem Aydoğan has received the Turkish Psychological Counseling Association Young Researcher Award, as well as ICASSI and TÜBİTAK scholarships. She is currently a faculty member in the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department at Aydın Adnan Menderes University and serves as the Director of the PDR Application and Research Center.
