Assist. Prof. Begüm Serim-Yıldız, Head of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling at TED University, delivered an online seminar titled “Setting Boundaries and Social Skills in Children” for parents of Hafize Özal Private Secondary School on December 17, 2025.

During the seminar, Assist. Prof. Serim-Yıldız shared evidence-based insights on the importance of setting boundaries in children’s developmental processes, fostering social skills, and the role of healthy communication in parent–child relationships. Parents were provided with concrete examples and practical recommendations applicable to daily life, offering a guiding framework to support children’s emotional and social development.

The seminar also addressed challenges children encounter in peer relationships, parental attitudes that promote the development of social skills, and the long-term effects of maintaining boundaries consistently. In the question-and-answer session, participating parents had the opportunity to share their experiences and receive expert guidance.

This online event, conducted with the contributions of Assist. Prof. Begüm Serim-Yıldız, made a meaningful contribution to helping parents approach their children’s developmental processes with greater awareness and a more supportive perspective.
